What are Drywall Partitions?

In simple terms, a drywall partition is a lightweight internal wall built from steel (or timber) framing lined with plasterboard, which is set and finished ready for paint.

At Advanced Office Interiors, our drywall partitions are typically delivered using our System 80/90mm fixed stud walls, designed for 13mm plasterboard and 51mm or 64mm studs, with the flexibility to include glazing and pre-finished panels depending on the feel you want in each zone.

Why Implement Drywall Partitions in Your Office?

Most workplaces need a balance, open areas for collaboration and enclosed areas for focus and confidential conversations. Open-plan offices consistently point to common challenges such as noise and reduced privacy, which can disrupt work and comfort.

Drywall partitions help you solve that problem with solid, professional room divisions that can be tailored to the way your team actually uses the floor.

It gives a more confidential environment for meeting rooms, HR spaces or leadership offices, clearer separation between work zones and client-facing areas, improved acoustic control (helping reduce noise transfer between spaces), and a finish that integrates cleanly with the rest of your office fit out.

Drywall vs Other Partition Options

If you need a more permanent “built room” feel and stronger visual privacy, drywall partitions are often the best choice. If you expect to reconfigure layouts later, you can also consider our demountable partitions which can be a smart alternative because they are designed to be dismantled and relocated. We offer a variety of configurations of Drywalls, therefor we guarantee that your requirement is fulfilled at Advanced Office Interiors.

Our Drywall Partition Options

Advanced Office Interiors delivers a range of drywall partition configurations.

Multiglaze Range

The Multiglaze range is designed to provide design flexibility while maintaining a streamlined appearance, built to suit 13mm plasterboard with 51mm or 64mm stud thicknesses.

If you want glazing within a plasterboard wall (for visibility, borrowed light, or a modern meeting-room look), Multiglaze provides a clean way to achieve that. The range supports glazing pockets that suit 6mm to 10mm glass, and includes configurations that can incorporate blinds in the frame (in offset or double-glazed glazing options), helping increase privacy without sacrificing light.

From an acoustic point of view, Multiglaze 90 includes published estimated sound ratings for solid plasterboard walls of RW 35 (without insulation) and RW 40 (with CAB3 polyester insulation). (Final results depend on the complete wall build-up and on-site detailing.)

Gallium Range

The Gallium range is a glazing system that can be incorporated into an office fitout regardless of wall thickness, and it is specifically positioned as being installable after the plasterwork has been completed, useful for staged refurbishments or when you want flexibility around sequencing.

Gallium range comes in two primary options. Gallium 45 is the slimline choice, designed for a streamlined appearance and supporting 6mm to 12mm glass. Gallium 100 is the more robust, heavy-duty option, used where a sturdier frame is required; it supports 35mm or 44mm doors, glazing from 4mm to 10mm, and is often used in external applications with sub head and sill options for weather conditions.

If your project needs glazing that looks intentional and “architectural” around doors and openings without redesigning the whole wall build-up Gallium range is often a strong fit.

Platinum Range

The Platinum range is positioned as a broader “architectural” option, designed around a uniform 35mm reveal for a crisp, streamlined finish and consistent visual detail across the fitout.

Where the Platinum range stands out is how many configurations it supports. For example, Platinum range include options designed around 64mm studs with 13mm plasterboard (Platinum 90), 76mm studs with 13mm plasterboard and multiple skin combinations (Platinum 105), and 92mm studs with 10mm plasterboard (Platinum 110), which is an all-purpose solution for many commercial applications.

If you have higher acoustic expectations, our Platinum 120 version estimated sound ratings for solid plasterboard walls of RW 36 (without insulation) and RW 42 (with CAB4 polyester insulation), and notes that increasing plasterboard layers can further boost performance. This makes our Platinum range a strong option when you want premium detailing and higher-performing room separation.

FAQs

Are drywall partitions permanent?

Drywall partitions (fixed stud walls) are generally considered a more permanent partitioning approach than demountable systems. If you anticipate frequent layout changes, it may be worth comparing options before you commit.

Can you add glazing to drywall partitions?

Yes. Many drywall partition systems can incorporate glazing and door/window framing, allowing you to borrow light while still creating defined rooms.

How do you improve acoustic privacy?

Acoustic performance is achieved by the whole system (for example: additional layers/skins, cavity depth, sound-absorbing insulation, and correct sealing). Avoiding unplanned substitutions helps protect the intended performance.

Can you install partitions while our team is still working on-site?

Often, yes. Office works can be planned in stages and sequenced to reduce disruption, depending on site access and the scope of work.
